Bridgerton Experience
DAY 1 ARRIVE IN LONDON: Arrive into London and transfer from the airport to your hotel. In the afternoon, your guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of this vibrant capital city. This evening enjoy dinner in your hotel. Overnight in London. (D)
DAY 2 BRIDGERTON RESIDENCE: This morning after breakfast, take a cruise on the River Thames from central London to Greenwich. Once in Greenwich, your guide will take you on a walking tour of this area of London (often used as film locations) to admire the beautiful architecture and to learn about its history. At the edge of Greenwich Park, you will visit Ranger’s House. This world-class museum and art gallery was used as the Bridgerton family’s wisteria-clad mansion in the TV series. After your visit and photos of the exterior, your coach will return you to central London where you will have some free time to explore. Overnight in London. (B)
DAY 3 PARKS & CASTLES: After breakfast, depart from London and drive to Bath. Along the route, stop to visit Syon House and Park. The Print Room in the house featured in the TV series as Simon’s father’s study, and the State Dining Room was used for Queen Charlotte’s meeting with her husband over dinner. Alternatively, you may stop at Painshill Park, just outside of London. The upper-class families in Bridgerton spend a lot of time in parks and gardens, and Painshill Park is one of the most elegant, as it stands in for Primrose Hill in the series. The 18th-century landscaped garden takes you on a journey of photogenic views and beautiful garden follies.
In the afternoon, stop at Wilton House near Salisbury, to explore the house and the grounds. Wilton House is featured heavily in the first season of Bridgerton, with many of its gardens and staterooms popping up in every episode. The Queen’s throne room, where the debutantes present themselves to Her Majesty, is just one example. The House was also used as the facade for the Duke of Hastings’ residence, as well as the dining room of Clyvedon Castle. Once you have explored the opulent house and beautiful gardens, drive the short distance to Bath, to check in to your overnight accommodation. Overnight in Bath. (B)
DAY 4 PROMENADING IN BATH: Despite the show being set in London, the city of Bath served as a key location for most of the street scenes, which isn’t surprising as it’s home to some of the best Regency architecture in Britain. Today you have a full day to explore the city. Start the day with a Bridgerton walking tour, to promenade through Bath’s beautiful and historic streets, taking in many of Bridgerton’s film locations. For example, Pickled Greens, a cute cafe which was the location of the Modiste dress shop, where everyone bought their made-to-measure ballgowns. After your walking tour, visit the Holburne Museum – this exquisite pillared building stars as Lady Danbury’s estate – or No.1 Royal Crescent, a museum which features as the exterior and some of the interiors of the Featheringtons’ residence. Overnight in Bath. (B)
DAY 5: THE COTSWOLDS & BUCKINGHAMSHIRE: After breakfast, depart Bath and journey through the picturesque Cotswolds. Stop to explore a village in an area known for its thatched cottages and green rolling hills. Continue north and stop to visit another exquisite park that features in the series – Stowe Park in Buckinghamshire. The parkland was used to depict Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in the show, with its Temple of Venus providing the backdrop to the outdoor Vauxhall Ball. Continue your drive north to York and check into your next overnight hotel. Overnight and dinner in York. (B/D)
DAY 6 YORK & CASTLE HOWARD: Enjoy a free morning in York to explore this historic city. Don’t miss the Shambles or York Minster. In the afternoon, drive the short distance to Castle Howard. After Simon and Daphne’s wedding, the couple move into the fictional Clyvedon Castle. However, the facade, entrance hall and grounds of the estate were actually filmed at Castle Howard, in the heart of Yorkshire. This Baroque stately home took over 100 years to complete. The surrounding park lands are just as grand as the castle, with temples, lakes, fountains and plenty of woodland walks to discover. Take a tour of the Castle and its treasure trove of inspiring architecture, fanciful stories and tranquil gardens, before returning to York for overnight. (B)
DAY 7 HATFIELD HOUSE: Depart York after breakfast and journey south. In the afternoon, visit Hatfield House in Hertfordshire which was another filming location for the Featheringtons’ residence. There’s a park, restaurant, Stable Yard shops, and you can take a tour of the mansion, including the Chinese bedroom, an opulent chamber with silk wallpaper and canopied bed that was once reserved exclusively for the King of England. Onward to London where you check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B/D)
DAY 8 LONDON / USA: After breakfast transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
